Things are going strong for Friday Night Fights as usual. We’ll be playing all your current favorites that somehow never get old, no matter how many hours you pump into them.

Under normal circumstances, there would be a caption for the picture above, however, today is anything but normal. You see, trying to create a caption worthy of the pure awesomeness that’s Raptor Jesus would be like dividing by zero — it’s just too damn risky.

On a lighter note, we could always use more hosts for Xbox 360 games, so please give out your gamertag in the comments section if you’re willing to.

It looks like Harmonix wants to put the new Rock Band Music Store to the test next week, as they’ve announced the addition of six songs by the legendary rock group Boston. For those willing to pay, joining the Boston song that already appears on the retail disc (”Foreplay/Long Time”) will be: “Hitch a Ride,” “More Than a Feeling,” Peace of Mind,” “Rock & Roll Band,” “Smokin’,” and “Something About You.”

I’m still not entirely sold on the concept of real time strategy games appearing on consoles, but Tom Clancy’s EndWar could be just the game to change my mind. Unlike previous RTS titles that have used gamepads exclusively, EndWar grants you to use voice commands to order your troops around.

As the above clip reveals, EndWar is essentially Clancy’s vision of World War III in videogame form. As far as I’m concerned, there have been more than enough games surrounding past wars, and it’s about time we see some new material.

Hit the jump for a demonstration of EndWar, if you can stomach listening to the Frag Dolls for about 5 minutes or so.

The incomparable GameTrailers has an exclusive Dark Sector launch trailer running, showcasing perhaps one of my biggest mysteries of the year. Most games, you kind of form an idea in your head as to whether or not they’ll be good, but with Dark Sector, I just can’t decide.

It tempts me with its brutal slaying, solid looking combat and fun sounding on the web play, but the lacklustre reaction that Dark Sector has inspired in others worries me. However, I hope it can be good so that Florian Eckhardt takes back his mockery of me for investing interest in Dark Sector. The wanker.

I was getting really excited about asking my esteemed colleague Chad Concelmo to focus on NBA Jam for one of his Memory Card articles. But then I realized that the greatness of those games couldn’t technically be summed up in a “moment” per se, so that went out the window. Oh, well.

Regardless, some of my favorite memories from those old-school arcade-style basketball titles came out of the ridiculous cheat codes in the games. I know I’m not alone when I fondly recall throwing down dunks with Bill Clinton and Al Gore…good times, good times.

It seems that 2K Sports knows to pay homage to their predecessors and have a tiny fun, even in a sim atmosphere. They’ve just put out a bunch of cheat codes for NBA 2K8, and while you can’t play with Benny the Bull, there’s some good stuff there. For example, entering “payrespect” will grant you to play with the old red, white, and blue ABA ball.

Hit the jump for the full list, which contains ten cheats. And for those (few) of you who own NBA 2K8, let us know what these codes do. I’m particularly curious about the “VC team” cheat. Let’s just hope it’s something harmless like “Virtual Console” or “Vince Carter” as opposed to, say, “Viet Cong”…

BlackBerry 9000What, you're using 3G? That was, like, soo last year (at least for Americans). The truly hip folks at RIM have decided to get with the times and have announced that they are testing a new BlackBerry with 3.5G data capabilities. The Financial Times is reporting that Research In Motion President Mike Lazaridis has confirmed the near-term release of a 3.5G-enabled BlackBerry smartphone.

Apparently, it pays to be the President of RIM. Lazaridis said that he’s toting around a prototype of the new BlackBerry that can hop along the internet superhighway at HSDPA speeds (where available, of course). The new BlackBerry could very well be the BlackBerry 9000 that we've been talking about for some time now.  If so, we can expect a big 480

CDMA version of HTC Shift coming to SprintSprint is really looking to expand its data-side services, and it makes sense, given their struggles in the traditional voice-call market. Sprint is apparently going to pickup the CDMA/EVDO version of the HTC Shift. We knew that the HTC Shift was a-comin' in GSMCDMA flavors (thanks, FCC) , and it seems that Sprint will have the honor of offering this hybrid mobile device to US customers. The 7-inch touchscreen display, QWERTY keyboard, 800 Mhz processor, 1GB RAM, a 40GB hard drive, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 2.0 that we see in the GSM HTC Shift remain unchanged.

Of course, we'll be seeing Sprint offer a CDMA/EVDO radio in their own version of the HTC Shift - as the HTC HTCX9000 Shift CDMA.

Celio REDFLY gives Windows Mobile 5 / 6 users some Foleo-like goodness

The Celio REDFLY is billed as the Mobile Companion to your Windows Mobile device, but the death of the Palm Foleo, the REDFLY's role as a true mobile computing client is questionable. Nevertheless, Mobility Today has had a chance to review the Celio REDFLY and came away impressed.

With no need to do any local processing or memory handling, the Celio REDFLY is good for a purported 8 hours of uptime, and will even charge that Windows Mobile handset of yours while you work. The main attraction of such a device is the ability to take full advantage of your high-powered WinMo handset's features. The larger screen apparently brings to the forefront the Windows Mobile platform's prowess as a true computing platform. The full QWERTY keyboard grants the user to work as they would on a traditional laptop.

Celio REDLY smartphone interface system

The one thing that the Celio REDFLY does well is highlight the Windows Mobile platform's competency. According to MT, the feel of using the REDFLY with an HTC TyTN II Kaiser (AT&T Tilt) is apparently quite close to that of a full-blown laptop. Imagine that, Windows Mobile actually feeling like Windows?

Mobile warriors might find it useful, but I doubt the Celio REDFLY will find a home in the mainstream. If I was going to carry around a notebook-like device, I would just carry my laptop. Of course, if future generations of these types of devices, which I like to call mobile computing clients, can achieve 12 hours or more of battery time, then I'll start to seriously think about such a device.

Well, Boy Genius has done it again. His source at Brightpoint has apparently given him a heads up on the RIM BlackBerry Curve 8830's Sprint-network launch date. We're looking for RIM to drop the 8830 Curve on Sprint customers come April 16 through Brightpoint and April 20 through all other channels.

The Sprint variant of the BlackBerry Curve 8830 will be rocking GPS, OS 4.3, 2.0 megapixel camera, video recording and voice notes - sadly, WiFi is not in the mix for the CDMA/EVDO smartphone.

Sprint BlackBerry Curve 8830

Titanium Silver is the only color that we're hearing will be offered, and anticipate to dole out a healthy $599.99 for the Sprint BlackBerry Curve 8830.

There's also mention of the Sanyo Katana LX (in 3 colors) Sanyo Pro-200 and Pro-700 launching at around the same time. Hit up the chart above for more details.

Palm Treo 800wDelays are the name of the game when it comes to the wireless industry. Unfortunately, Palm is in no position to delay yet another smartphone. Even with the fantastic sales of the Palm Centro, Palm CEO Ed Colligan announced today that Palm's latest financial net loss amounts  to $31.5 million.  But, the worst news will hit Windows Mobile-powered Treo-fans the hardest. Colligan said that “new Windows Mobile Treos” are “not coming out this quarter,” adding that new Windows Mobile Treo smartphones would be released “before the end of summer.”

Now, Colligan never directly mentioned the upcoming and highly anticipated Palm Treo 800w, but the “new Windows Mobile Treos” are little more than a thinly veiled reference to the Treo 800w. And, to help ease the pain of an even longer wait, Colligan assured us that the new Treo (Treo 800w) “will be the most competitive enterprise solution in the marketplace.” Take that, Apple!

Palm's strength has always been the enterprise market, so the new Treo's corporate competency isn't in doubt. But, we'll have to wait and see if the Treo 800w can save Palm, or if it's just too tiny, too late. I, for one, hope it saves Palm.
