Guitar Hero 3 goes BlackBerry

I still wait to read about the impact of Facebook for BlackBerry release on the mobile workers productivity. Somehow I doubt it was beneficial to the companies which gave away the RIM-made smartphones to their managers. And now, to make things even worse for the companies' performance, Bplay is releasing Guitar Hero 3 for BlackBerry.

The game works on virtually all BlackBerry models, so it's not just the “Curve/Pearl/8800 thing.” It features 15 jamming tracks taken from the Guitar Hero console series and grant you to play through 3 venues each with 4 set songs and an encore. As you progress — and we're confident you’ll — you'll be able to unlock guitars, earn achievements and break records. Just like the console version, the mobile game is quite addictive, and after mastering the 15 tracks, Bplay's subscription version is there to add 3 new songs per month to keep your addiction properly fed…

Sony Ericsson P5 Paris leaked?

What we have here’s supposedly Sony Ericsson's next big thing. Apparently, it's the P5 model, which is also known as “Paris.” From what we know, the upcoming device should have the slider form factor, sporting the P1 or M600 like keyboard under the screen. In addition, the widgetized homepage makes us think it will run the recently announced UIQ 3.3 and we're also keeping our fingers crossed for the built-in GPS.

Nothing is confirmed and as always (until the official announcement) the Swedish-Japanese handset maker is quiet. As soon as we have a new tidbit of information we'll post it, have no doubt about it. Stay tuned…

UPDATE: We’ve another leaked pic of the device. Check it out after the break.

Griffin ClearBoost iPhone antenna-boosting case

If you're like me, you don't buy into the antenna-boosting scam. I may be little harsh to the whole niche industry, but adding an external antenna without opening the actual device and connecting the wires easy doesn't make much sense to me. Maybe I'm wrong…

Anyway, we've recently spotted Griffin's antenna-boosting case for iPhone called ClearBoost which promises, guess what, to improve the signal reception on your shiny handset. The case seems solid enough and the package even includes the so-much-needed screen protector sticker. The piece of metal on the back of the case supposedly should do all the magic when it comes to signal reception.

Griffin says that “you can expect to see improvements that won't necessarily be reflected in the number of bars on your iPhone,” making me even be more cautious. Maybe I'll try one after all. Have to see whether the stores around have it, and if it works, I'll report back to you. In the meantime, check out the Griffin's “How can I measure how well ClearBoost is working?” video after the jump. Alternatively, you may want to visit their site to get more info on the product.

Motorola Smart Rider

Back in February we saw Moto Smart Rider passing the FCC hurdle, and now, almost two months later it's here. Of course, it was announced at the CTIA where we expected much more from America's struggling handset makers, but “it is what it is,” as they state.

Anyway, the Smart Rider is everything but an eye-appealing device. Then again, Moto might be targeting a bit older audience who don't like all the mambo-jumbo of the modern smartphones. In that sense, if they pitch it properly, this may end up a success.

As for the specs — aside from the built-in GPS which is accompanied with powerful navigation features such as voice-guided directions, real-time traffic reports and automatic re-routing — the Smart Rider also features 2.8 inch screen, Bluetooth, and voice activation. Interested buyers will have to wait till June, when Moto said it will start selling the device around the world… Full release follows after the break.

  • Interactive voice activation makes the phone hassle-free for drivers
