Damn Colorware and their awesome painting jobs. For a second I thought this is the long-awaited bad-ass 3G iPhone. It's all black, looks so mean and comes with a matching earphones and iPhone dock. But no, they just made it look like that, without changing anything in terms of specs. Not that we expected Colorware to do so — it's not their business after all — however we haven't expected them to release a product that could clearly resemble the 2nd-gen iPhone. That's so mean from them.
The Stealth iPhone rocks and is priced accordingly. In order to have the meanest looking iPhone in the block, prepare to pour out $675 for 8GB, or $775 for 16GB model. That's a lot…

Skype has recently launched a Java ME based application to allow mobile phone users to take advantage of the low-cost phone calls and chat with their Skype buddies. Still in beta, Skype mobile “thin” client works on about 50 of the most popular Java-enabled mobile phones from Motorola, Nokia, Samsung and Sony Ericsson.
The problem with the first release, though, is that Skype-to-Skype and SkypeOut calls are initially supported only in select markets: Brazil (Rio de Janeiro), Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Poland, Sweden, and the United Kingdom. We've no doubts that’ll change in the upcoming weeks and months, and in the meantime, if your country is on the list, it is advised you're on some either unlimited or really low-cost data plan in order to benefit from Skype's offering…
Full Skype's release is available from here, and the application can be download from here.

Someone has been selling the unlocked BlackBerry 9000 on eBay, but that action is mysteriously ended now. While we've no idea whether this comes from a true RIM insider who wanted to make an extra buck by selling the device before any carrier even had a chance, something tells us this guy/girl knows his stuff. The photos look very legit and so does the spec-sheet. Apparently, the BlackBerry in question sports 3G, EDGE, WiFi and Bluetooth. We guess HSDPA is in the mix too, at least for GSM/UMTS based network. We'll have to wait tiny longer before RIM officially bless us with its next-gen all-in-one wonder. In the meantime, enjoy the video of compiled BlackBerry 9000 pics after the jump. As you're about to see, the upcoming BlackBerry might be worth the wait.

Nokia is having its first ever “Design Event” in Central London today at their new Studio, pictured above. Several concepts were presented of projects currently being worked on, but are not going to see the light of day for another 3 to 5 years.

First up is this new “People First” concept that’s simply a list of people you communicate with based on your last interaction with stated person. Pretty cool stuff, but why should such an “advanced UI” be 3-5 years out? I don't get it.

Next is the “Zero Waste Charger” which trys to tackle power consumption. Three ways to reach this goal are currently under review:
- Put a button on the charger so that it doesn't suck power until you push stated button. Built in timer turns the charger off after an hour.
- As soon as a device is connected the charger starts charging, but then shuts itself off after an hour automatically.
- The ultimate goal is to have the device talk to the charger and tell it to activate only when the device needs power.
All great ideas, number 2 is the most practical, number 1 will cause a lot of people to return their charger thinking it is broken. Number 3 is extraordinary, but the technology to do that isn't cheap enough this day and when it is cheap enough in half a decade it is still going to be an extra penny that is added to the BOM which adds up when you ship half a billion mobile phones a year.

Third and final concept called “Wears in, not out” is the most confusing since it is already happening this day … anyway quote from the press bulletin:
“As more services become available on our mobile devices this concept explores how people could potentially upgrade their devices digitally rather than physically in the future, giving people an additional choice on how they use and update their mobile phones.”

Some Verizon dates have been leaked. We're talking about three devices - the LG VX8610 which we saw earlier “in the wild,” the Prada-like VC9700 and the LG VX8560 Chocolate Flip phone. Apparently:
- The VX8610 Decoy, slider with a very special built-in removable Bluetooth headset, is reportedly scheduled to hit the on the internet offering on May 30th and Verizon stores on June 9th.
- Then goes the LG VX8560 Chocolate Flip, an update to the VX8600 model with large external screen and music controls, which is set for an on-line release of June 24th and an in-store release early July.
- Finally, the all-touchscreen equipped LG VC9700 Dare is expected to have an on-line release of July 4th and an in-store release by mid-July. The device is basically the U.S. version of the Prada phone sans branding and among other things sports a massive WQVGA touchscreen, 3.2 megapixel camera with Schneider Kreuznach lens, and on-screen QWERTY keypad.
None of the information above is confirmed by Verizon, though dates certainly make sense. We'll keep our eyes wide open and get back to you as soon as we’ve a new tidbit of information.
