Sure, you can set a pic of a friend/colleague when he or she calls you on your iPhone, but what about video? iPhone's CPU can certainly handle video clips and folks from iFonetec used it to create the application that will add video ringtones to your shiny handset.
The so called VideosTone app allows you to set a video clip that will automatically start playing when a specified person calls you. That's in case you have enough battery life left (more than 10%).
It's not actually productivity booster, but certainly a neat addon that will warm your heart when a dear person calls.
In order to give VideosTone a try, you'll need a jailbroken iPhone. Then add “app.ifonetec.com” to Installer.app sources or use Modmyifone.com sources.

Yahoo! has just announced a deal with 3UK to be the exclusive provider of banners and sponsored links inventory on “Planet 3″ (the operator's portal). The first ads will apparently appear later this month.
Head of On-Portal Advertising Neil Andrews said: “We believe Yahoo! has the experience to help us take full advantage of our advanced portal and one-of-a-kind all 3G subscriber-base. By combining Yahoo!’s expertise in mobile advertising with 3’s valuable inventory, we can help huge brands target their advertising with maximum success.”
This isn't the first time 3 and Yahoo! have collaborated - we could consider this news to be an extension of their strategic relationship - and of course, a nice win for Yahoo!

You might remember from only a few weeks back that I covered Blyk's (the ad-funded MVNO) rollout to further European countries - well, they have just announced that for Belgium, the network they will be piggy-backing on is Mobistar.
Blyk is the new mobile network for 16-24 year-olds that’s funded by advertising. Blyk links young people with brands they like and gives them free texts and minutes every month. Blyk was founded in 2006 in Finland and is now operating in the UK, where members embraced the Blyk concept so swiftly that its annual member targets of 100,000 were reached six months ahead of schedule. Entry into Belgium is part of Blyk's next wave of European expansion that was announced last week.
As before - let's see how well the ad-funded model rolls out - Blyk's plans are to enter the German, Spanish, and Belgian markets next year.

Y'all remember the Moto DirectorMe competition that I reported on a little while back right? First prize was £10K, and believe it or not, a winner has been announced!
The winning entry was from a chap called Beau Fowler, and was created and edited entirely on the Z10 - it's a short homage to martial arts entitled “brotherly love”, and is very neatly done - the screenshot below doesn't really do it justice, so I'd encourage you to have a watch, and then let us know what you think!

San Francisco-based on the web restaurant reservation service OpenTable.com has recently launched a beta version of its mobile site. The so called OpenTable Mobile makes it easier for people who are away from their computers to enjoy the convenience and ease of booking their restaurant reservations online.
Available from mobile.opentable.com, the mobile website is designed to mimic the OpenTable.com's “simple, streamlined reservation process,” enabling users to swiftly identify restaurants with available tables and narrow their choices by neighborhood and desired times.
At the moment the service works with U.S.-based restaurants only, but that's about enough for the begin. I've no doubts OpenTable.com will be adding restaurants from their international network to the mobile website in the near future…

Last December, Nokia acquired Avvenu, an online service that lets users “securely access, use and share files from their desktop computers using their mobile phones.” Now, we're starting to see effects of the acquisition as the Finnish giant introduced “Files on Ovi.”
Still in beta, the new service consists of two parts - a desktop client that sits on your computer and a mobile web component that grants you to access your files from any Internet connected device, mobile phones included.
However, it's not just accessing your files from anywhere, the new service is offering. There's also the paid version called “Anytime files,” which basically works like Box.net or MediaFire. In case you don't know what the two mentioned services do, you should know they provide users with a storage space where users can upload their files, and access and share them with their friends and/or colleagues. A free 60 trial version is available, so you could try the service prior to purchasing it.
As with all beta versions out there, you should anticipate some hiccups here and there. That being said, you're also welcomed to send Ovi team a feedback and make sure they fix any of the bugs that may occur.
Hop over to files.ovi.com to give it a try.

Crazy or not, the iPhone 3G queue has started. As of Friday, July 4th, about ten people have started a line outside of Apple's flagship store on 5th Avenue in New York. That's a whole week before!
Apparently, some of the folks waiting are trying to break some kind of record which involves their baby? Is that the “longest time waited with a baby” record or what? Additionally, they also have some political ideas to share, so if you care to know more and are not in NYC these days you might want to check some of these folks on video. Engadget got a opportunity to talk with them. They'll certainly get the media attention, and their iPhones…

The Sony Ericsson W595, or Linda, is a 14 mm thick slider with a 3.2 megapixel camera that’s an upgrade to the W580. It has shake control, it has an FM radio, knowing SE it probably lacks a 3.5 mm headphone jack which is a damn shame.

Can't wait to get a taste of Google's Linux-based Android OS? Well, Nokia N810 World wide web Tablet owners are in luck. With Android getting ported to handsets like it's going out of style, it was only a matter of time before an easy-as-pie Android Installer came to light.
Enter the Android Installer for the Nokia N810 Internet Tablet. The new installer makes the previously hair-raising Android-port no more intimidating than a couple file-saves and an installer execution.
You'll need to make sure your Nokia N810 Internet Tablet is running on the latest firmware (Diablo) and that there's at least 110MB of free space on your device (internal memory or miniSD card) before you proceed (there are reports that an N800 “kinda” works with this installer, but experiment at your own risk).
Then follow these simple steps:
- Download and save the android.img.bz2 image file to your device (internal or external storage).
- Download and save the android-installer.deb file to your device.
- Install the Android Installer file.

- Reboot device.
- Start Android from the “Extras” menu.

That's it - easy-peasy, wasn't it? Of course, Android Installer or no, you'll be proceeding at your own risk.
