It's not just the new Walkman phones Sony Ericsson has announced today. The Swedish-Japanese handset maker has also unveiled an array of mobile accessories:

  • Three sets of speakers - the MBS-200, MBS-400 and MPS-100
  • Three stereo headphones - HBH-IS800, HPM-88 and HPM-66
  • A stylish phone case - IPC-4

From what I can tell, the HPM-88 noise cancelling headphones are the most interesting accessory announced today. According to the handset makers's official release, they grant listening of the music without background noise, reducing outside sound by up to 75%. That nearly feel like some of the Bose's models. In addition, the MBS-400 wireless speakers also look interesting, promising high-quality, powerful stereo sound on the go.

All accessories mentioned above will hit choose markets somewhere in Q4 2008.

More images follow after the jump.

Nokia S60 Touch UI screenshot

What we’ve here are the first screenshots of the upcoming S60 Touch platform. From what we have the ability to tell, all that additional space beyond QVGA is used in a ideal way. Going through images or watching a video will be a real pleasure on a device using the S60 Touch.

Existing S60 users won't have hard time getting used to the modified environment, while the new entrants to the “S60 world” will also find the platform appealing. Now, if Nokia would be kind enough the release the first devices this year that would be awesome.

Check out few more screenshots after the jump.

Virus Barrier

The latest version of Intego's Virus Barrier (v10.5.3) won’t only scan files on your Mac, but will also include the iPhone in the process. And while we're not aware some malware is developed for the iPhone or iPod Touch at this stage — which is kinda logical considering how tightly Apple controls the platform — it's kinda fair to guess Intego will use the newly developed “iPhone compatibility” for marketing purposes.

Scaring people was never my hobby, and I never liked all those anti-malware solutions for Symbian-based smartphones. To be fair, a single virus has been developed in the near future for S60, but that wasn't actually a large deal. That being said, I'm all against this approach. Presently, iPhone and iPod Touch are perfectly safe devices!

Anyway, Virus Barrier X5 10.5.3 runs totally on your Mac (no Computer version is available) and will only scan the iPhone, once it's connected for syncing purposes.

For all you cellphone videographers looking to broadcast your oh-so-important daily lives' activities to the ether with that handy-dandy video camera you call a smartphone, Qik has finally announced their highly anticipated public beta.

What, you didn't realize that smartphone of yours was a full-fledged wireless video camera capable of streaming live video to the internet for all to see? Well, Qik will have you thinking otherwise with their almost real-time video streaming service.

The new public beta now offers compatibility with handsets like the Samsung Blackjack-II, Motorola Q, Samsung SHG-i600, and the Nokia N78. And, the beta service now offering Sprint and Verizon customers the same cellular video streaming ability that was previously only available to AT&T customers that managed to get in on the private beta program. Over 30 Windows Mobile and Symbian S60-powered handsets are supported now (find the full list here).Qik logo

Also new to the Qik public beta service are the capability to broadcast your videos in to pre-defined groups. The groups can be individually set to public, private, or restricted. And, with video streaming latency times pared down to the sub-second to 3-second range, Qik is easily the most “real-time” live video streaming service in the industry.

Most importantly, Qik is still working to bring a native version of their application to the Apple iPhone. Regardless of whether or not Apple has seen fit to give the iPhone or iPhone 3G any video recording abilities, Qik is pushing hard to get their iPhone application out the door. But, it'll be up to Apple's higher-ups to grant or deny the application from being offered through the AppStore. Qik's iPhone application is set to kick of alpha-stage testing next week.

Of course, the iPhone 3G and updated iPhones running iPhone 2.0 OS are already jailbroken and working with freely available third-party applications, so we could see Qik circumventing any Apple-bans with an application available for jailbroken iPhones.

We've been reporting about the upcoming Samsung i788 for quite some time now. We know AT&T will pick it up and market it as the BlackJack III. The Treo-killin' device is actually the i780 model with right frequencies for AT&T's 3G network and will see its U.S. debut somewhere in October this year.

Anticipate all the features you could possibly imagine — including WiFi, 3 megapixel camera, 320

Sony Ericsson Xperia X1

I'm not sure whether it's the iPhone 3G or the HTC Touch Diamond/Touch Pro that took the flame from the Sony Ericsson Xperia X1, but the truth is that lately we haven't heard much about Sony Ericsson's superphone.

Now we have a new tidbit of information. Apparently, Hutchinson's 3 (Three) will get to carry one of the most anticipated Windows Mobile smartphones to date. From what we know, 3 will launch the device somewhere in November and will bind it with plans that begin from 30 GBP a month. That may sound kinda steep, but considering you'll be getting one of the most powerful handsets on the market, it's not actually pricey.

We don't know, though, how much the device will cost unlocked. It won't be cheap, that's for sure. Hopefully, we'll have more to report on Xperia soon. Scrap that, we want the evaluation unit. Sony Ericsson are you listening? ;)

Motorola Adventure V750 lands on Verizon

We knew this is coming and now the Motorola Adventure V750 is available for purchase through Verizon's website!

Nothing too exciting here, though, but that doesn't mean Verizon won't sell bunch of these. The EV-DO Rev. A enabled clamshell will certainly be appealing to more adventurous among us, or at least Military Spec 810F advocates so. In addition, two screens (2.2-inch QVGA internal and 1.6-inch external), Bluetooth, media player, 2 megapixel camera and a microSD slot are also among the selling points of the Moto V750. Finally, the price seems right, or at least I'm not aware some other rugged clamshell is available for $100 on a two-year contract. Push-to-talk will, however, cost you additional $5 a month…

More information is available from Verizon's website.

MobileMEApple's problem-prone MobileMe launch is apparently still experiencing growing-pains. My MobileMe email still isn't pushing correctly. It's a hit or miss proposition at this point. Strangely, my push email was working just fine last week.

And, apparently, I'm not alone, CNN Money is reporting that some MobileMe users are still out of luck with their push email service.

The Cupertino, Calif., company has been migrating its .Mac pay email service to an upgraded version, called MobileMe. But in doing so, it has run into problems including service outages and customers losing access to their accounts. It's the latest in a string of issues that have cropped up since the launch of the latest iPhone, an unusual turn for a company known for its attention to detail in its products and services.

And, the MobileMe support site shows that 1% of uApple MobileMe push email not workingsers are still in the dark for MobileMe push email.

Combined with Apple's iPhone 3G stock running dry in the US (let alone globally), it seems Apple's having serious issues keeping up with rampant demand for both the new iPhone 3G and the push email service.

So, are you part of that 1% without a working MobileMe push email account? Sound off in the comments section.

Update
Wouldn't you know it? As soon as I posted this, my MobileMe push email went from non-working status to a full push-email greenlight.
