Grand Theft Auto IV’s exclusive Xbox 360 downloadable content titled The Lost and Damned will be revealed in detail during the Spike TV Videogames Awards. The awards show will be this Sunday at 9:00 PM eastern time. According to the press release, west coast viewers will have to catch the program on a tape delay. This is important, because it prevents people in California from experiencing the wonders of live TV and the possibility of nipple slips.
It’s interesting that Rockstar Games decided to actually show the DLC to fans. Rumors on the Internet have stated that GTA is the “worst gaeme evar” and that it has been sold back to each retailer it was ever bought from. A user by the name of OldFatCat89 at GameFAQs claims that his father (who owns GameStop and works at Nintendo) currently has fourteen semis full of used copies of GTA IV.
The exclusive content will be available on February 17. It’s promising a wide array of things, but the most notable are the new storyline, characters, and weapons.

After viewing this trailer, one begins to understand why Volition decided to go with the name Red Faction: Guerilla. Like most RF games, the protagonist is stationed on Mars. Unlike most RF games, he has a wicked huge hammer. Aside from bludgeoning random buildings until they topple over, he’ll be using his hammer/pickaxe to fight against imperial imprisonment.
Basically, the large bad Earth Defense Force has come to colonize (or bleed) Mars for all that the red planet is worth. As the voiceover in the trailer explains quite well, the people aren’t digging the fact that the Defense Force has decided to put them in chains. As it tends to go with videogame freedom-fighting situations, the workers will have access to some pretty heavy machinery to aid the battle. That nasty looking mech looks care about it will fit the bill quite well.
Large robots that can break and kill things always create a win-win situation for gamers. Hopefully Volition can capitalize on the apparent awesomeness that has been displayed in this trailer.
