A Rose by any other name wouldn't be called Rose: New Street Fighter IV pics! screenshot

It’s almost Christmas, and to celebrate, here are some Street Fighter IV screens. Christmas and Street Fighter are quite unrelated, but that’s not going to cease us linking the two.

The main focus of this gallery is the revelation of the last character on the roster, Rose. Capcom also promises that one of the gallery images contains a “sneak peek” of Cammy’s leotard, but we’ll let you go looking for that one like the rampant pervert you are.

Godfather 2 screenshot

Last week, EA Redwood Studios was nice enough to invite me out to their offices to check out Godfather II.

It was actually really hard for me to preview Godfather II this time around, because I actually had to play the game on dry land. I had my first look at the game on a yacht, so you can understand why I had such a hard time getting used to playing the game on land. There wasn’t even a bottle of Cristal waiting for me this time, either!

I was very upset with EA, and even demanded that they move this preview onto a boat. They refused, and directed me to the image you see above (via icanhascheezeburger). I got the hint, and endured the preview so I could bring this preview to you guys.

On that note, hit the jump to find out about all of the new features appearing in Godfather II that look to turn players into a Don.

New Duke Nukem Forever wallpaper available, everyone get excited screenshot

Today 3D Realms revealed yet another stellar image of their eternally upcoming game, Duke Nukem Forever. Instead of a small picture attached to a job ad, the image is full-size and ready to become a part of fans’ desktops. The wallpaper features several enemy character models that we presume will change when a new graphics engine is purchased in 2020.

The reason for the image is actually quite clear. It not only proves that someone has been busy at the office for ten minutes, but it also makes a nice holiday present for fans that feel a bit neglected. In addition to this wallpaper, 3D Realms also debuted a picture of half-naked women posing in front of Christmas presents. Apparently, it has something to do with Twitter, but I lost interest and quit reading the post.

So, there you’ve it. Duke Nukem Forever enemies in wallpaper form. This is very exciting stuff and the future of the title looks promising.

Getting Gamerpoints in Lips is easy ... and you don't even have to sing screenshot

Yesterday, I purchased my girlfriend Lips. It’s a karaoke game in the SingStar mold, developed by the brilliant minds at iNiS Corp., most notably tied to the Elite Beat Agents and Gitaroo Man. I’m not much of a singer unless I’m in the shower and the apartment is empty, but my girlfriend cares about the genre.

I noticed as she was playing over a two-hour span (while I was working in the office, writing news for all of you) that she earned several hundred Achievement points within that small timeframe. Because I’m invested in my Gamerscore, I thought I would turn on the title while I was alone this morning. Lo and behold, Accomplishments are easy to come by … if you’re willing to sing or cheat.

Here’s the problem though – I’m a terrible singer. In much my usual way, I tried to figure out a way to get the points without embarrassing myself. In frustration, midway through Depeche Mode’s “Personal Jesus,” I simply started blowing into the flashing microphone. Magically, I started scoring well. Intrigued, I went from song to song, blowing in the microphone and scoring thousands of points. I earned roughly 60 achievement points in fifteen minutes. Not that bad, if you think about it.

There are some variables that go into this exhaling mechanism. First, if it’s a song like A-Ha’s “Take on Me,” you need to blow in bursts. Occasionally, you can blow through all the words in one mighty puff, but the game is manic in this regard. Secondly, quit smoking if you want to do this. After my fifteen-minute experiment, I was about to die.

The real question is, can you dominate Lips’ Accomplishments by exhaling loudly? I’ll be trying my best. You guys should try it out, too.

Hadouken! Over 250,000 Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remixes sold screenshot

Since Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix was first announced, it seemed like it would be an obvious hit. So it’s no surprise that it actually is.

Resident Evil 5 screenshot

I’ve been a Resident Evil fanatic ever since that damn dog jumped through the window in the original game back in 1996. I’ve played all of the games, read all the books, seen the movies, and have absorbed each little of bit of knowledge I have the ability to about the series. Hell, I even own the Resident Evil Archives book. If owning a book about all of the Resident Evil facts (up to Code: Veronica) isn’t nerd-overload, then I don’t know what’s.

I actually missed getting the Japanese demo from earlier in the month (I still haven’t updated my console with NXE), so I was excited to finally get my hands on Resident Evil 5 at a current Capcom hands-on event.

Fable II's 'Knothole Island' DLC delayed until 'late January' screenshot

According to an official announcement on the official Xbox website, Fable II’s ‘Knothole Island’ DLC won’t be hitting Xbox Live Marketplace until “late January 2009” because of “unexpected technical difficulties.” This marks the second delay of the content that was originally supposed to debut on December 12.

‘Knothole Island’ will introduce players to a new landmass with several new quests, items, properties, and enemies. The source of the problem could be tied into its nature – the developer of the content, Lionhead, were going to put two different versions out for consumers.

The premium version (800 Microsoft Space Dollars) would grant players full freedom with the content. The regular version (free) would restrict players from the vast majority of the ‘Knothole Island’ DLC unless they were with a friend who had purchased the content. One could certainly speculate that getting these two different downloads to work together may have been the source of the problem.

Because of the delay of the content, Microsoft has put a hold on their “Knothole Island Download & Win Sweepstakes” which was intended to put players in a lottery to win decent prizes if they bought and played the content between December 22 and 23. We were all eagerly awaiting this contest and are severely disturbed that it has been delayed.
