I’m not the only one in the Destructoid staff room putting extra creases in his trousers for Bayonetta. It’s definitely one of our most anticipated games of 2009, which is why we’re eager to speak about it any time we can. Thankfully, Edge has given us a fresh excuse, with some extra gameplay details and words from director Hideki Kamiya.
Climax Action is a term you’ve probably heard about this game, and the skinny is that it’s a philosophy Platinum Games takes seriously with Bayonetta. It is being promised that backtracking and problem solving are not the order of the day — it’s all about non-stop action and killing everything as fast as possible. With levels that boast disintegrating levels to keep the player moving and giant demon angel that uses two snakes as weapons, I have the ability to believe that Platinum is doing good work.
