Apple packaging is so pretty, it’s kind of a shame to throw it out. If you can collect enough boxes, one option would be to create a handsome agency like the one pictured here.

Unless you go about acquiring these boxes by purchasing a bunch of MacBooks, this would be a fairly cheap piece of furniture—kind of like those cardboard dressers you had as a kid. Remember those? Man, those things sucked. [Imageshack Thanks Brian / Kristin!]

Indeed, this magical fried egg has the power to guide you to the right path. That is to say, it can help you find the water closet in the middle of the night.

Why would anyone want a fried egg push button nightlight? I’ll be dammed if I know—but if you already have the cereal lamp, this egg would really balance out your crazy plastic breakfast. [Gadget4All via Pocket-Lint]

These ads for the Olympus E620 DSLR show animals frozen in blocks of ice. This might be to highlight the camera’s image stabilization, or it might be targeted at the coveted animal abuser demographic.

One without a whole bunch of ramps, surprisingly. The interior has living spaces and working spaces, housing both a lab and a crazy wooden maze of banisters and staircases.

Kamen himself calls his house a “cross between a technology museum of old stuff and Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory.” Accurate only if Willy Wonka wore a jean suit. But, both are pretty admirable people, so it’s a fair comparison.

Also cool are the sports facilities (tennis courts, basketball hoops, a friggin’ softball field), plus a steam engine. All befitting an impressive man who was nevertheless able to put me to sleep at my own graduation. [WMUR - Thanks Eq!]

Futuristic concept products—especially gadgets—always inspire the same thought: in about ten years, this is going to seem ridiculous. Jalopnik takes a look back at the technological dreams of the automobile industry, circa 1999.

Not to be outdone by Barack Obama, THQ has sent off a golden Nintendo Wii to Buckingham Palace where the queen will likely receive it and think it’s a humidor or something.

Apparently, the gift is really a promotional stunt for their upcoming Large Family Games.

BIG Family Games is the ultimate Wii game to get all family members, from grandparents to young children, playing together. The Royal Family is arguably the most important family in the country so we felt that they’d to have a copy of the new game. But we thought that Her Majesty the Queen wouldn’t want to play on any old console, so an extra-special gold one was commissioned. We hope that she and the rest of the Royal Family enjoy the game!”

Yes, I’m sure the Queen will be all over this after a few lessons on these new things called “video games” from her grandchildren. [Kotaku]

It’s not a surprise, but ailing UMPC company OQO has just stopped support service and shut down their phone lines, citing “financial constraints.” That’s pretty much the end of OQO. [OQOTalk via Engadget]

The 25,000+ square feet display just debuted today at the Dallas Cowboys stadium. It’s the world’s largest video screen.

The big display weighs 600 tons, is 180 feet long and 72 feet tall. It’s made of 10.5 million LEDs. When replays are shown, they are automatically made into slow motion. More than ten minutes of direct exposure will render a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader sterile. Each fan featured on the screen will get a million dollars deposited into an account of their choice. You can see it in motion here. [Dallas News]
