Gionee has just launched the first two smartphones in its brand new A-Series of smartphones at MWC 2017. The highlights of the Gionee A1 and A1 Plus are long-battery life and superior selfie photo quality.
Staring with the Gionee A1, the handset features a fairly large 4,010mAh battery with new 18W ultrafast charging capable of charging the batteries fully in 2 hours. It sports a 5.5-inch display set at a resolution of 1080×1920 pixels, and is powered by a MediaTek Helio P10 chipset coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 256GB via a microSD card. For optics, the A1 bears a 13MP f/2.0 rear camera, and a 16MP f/2.0 front-facing one. Its dimensions are 154.5×76.5×8.5 mm and weighs in at 182 grams. It also offers support for Dual-SIM and 4G LTE. The Gionee A1 comes in three colors – Gray, Black and Gold, and ships with Android Nougat 7.0.
Moving on to the Gionee A1 Plus, the handset sports a bigger 4,550 mAh also with 18W Ultrafast Charge technology. It has a slightly bigger 6-inch display set at a resolution of 1080×1920 pixels, and is fuled by a MediaTek Helio P25 chipset coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of expandable storage. In the camera department, the A1 Plus features a dual rear camera set up with 13MP + 5MP sensors with an f/2.0 aperture, 1/3.06-inch sensor, and flash module. The front-facingg camera has a 20MP capacity with an f/2.0 aperture, 1/2.8-inch sensor, and selfie flash. It measures 166.4×83.3×9.1 mm and weighs 226 grams. The A1 Plus also runs on Android 7.0 Nougat and offers dual SIM and 4G LTE connectivity. Color options for the Gionee A1 Plus are identical to the A1.
The Gionee A1 and A1 Plus will be priced at EUR 349 and EUR 499 respectively. The A1 will hit the market in March this year in India and Nepal first, while the A1 Plus is expected in April.
