PDF files are mainly used by designers and marketing executives to express ideas or present deals. However, there is a problem arising, PDF files are massive in size, so it’s quite difficult to send them through emails and other common file sharing systems. Therefore, the best way is to compress or reduce the size of PDF files using your Mac to send them more easily.

How to Compress a PDF File on Mac
There are not many people know the feature of reducing PDF file size. Just with a few simple steps, you can reduce hundreds of MBs and then easily send your PDF files to your partner via emails.
To get this purpose, you can download a PDF from the web, or create one yourself on your Mac, or use any PDF file that you received from somebody. You can also use File menu on the file if you want to create or generate a PDF file from the Word, PowerPoint, or Spreadsheet. After that, click on Print option.
You can also press Command+P buttons and there will be a dialog box appearing on the screen. From the bottom left corner, click on PDF menu and then choose “Save as PDF” option. Finally, set the path and hit the Save button.
Now, it’s time to compress/reduce the size of the newly created PDF file. To do so:
Step 1: First, on your Mac, choose a PDF file you want to compress.
Step 2: Next, double-click on that file and a Preview window will show up on your Mac. As it’s a default feature on your MacOS; so if Preview doesn’t open, you have to try it again.
Step 3: Click on File menu, and you will see a drop-down menu. Click on Export from this menu
Step 4: You will now see a dialog box, including Quartz Filter option and next to this, there is a drop-down menu.
Step 5: Click on that menu and select Reduce File Size and hit Save button.
Before saving the reduced PDF file, you can also choose the location to save the file.
Since it’s a short-coming of this feature: you are not able to measure the compression level on your file. However, this add-on will not be a matter to you. Simply enjoy the newly reduced PDF files and quickly send them to the people you want.
