HTC has just unveiled its latest flagship U series in India. The higher-end U Ultra that will go on sale on March 6 is priced at Rs 59,990 ($896), while the U Play that will be available from mid-March is priced at Rs 39,990 ($597). Color options for both devices include Sapphire Blue, Brilliant Black, Cosmetic Pink and Ice White.
HTC U Utra
HTC U Utra has got a glass-metal design and features a 5.7-inch QHD display with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. It is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor, along with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of on-board storage which can be expanded up to 2TB via a microSD card. Unfortunately, the U Ultra variant with 128GB of storage is not available in India. The 64GB variant’s display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5, while the 128GB one is protected by Sapphire glass.
In the camera department, the HTC U Ultra sports a 12MP rear camera with an f/2.8 aperture, a BSI sensor, laser + phase detection autofocus, optical image stabilization, and dual-tone LED flash. Also adorning the front of the device is a 16MP selfie camera with an UltraPixel mode, a BSI sensor, and 1080p video. The U Ultra is backed by a 3,000mAh battery which is capable of delivering up to 26 hours of talk-time and up to 13 days of standby time. Its dimensions are
HTC U Play
HTC U Play features a 5.2-inch full HD display Gorilla Glass coating and is powered by MediaTek Helio 64-bit octa-core processor coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory that can be expandable up to 2TB via a micro SD card.
For optics, the U Play comes with a 16MP rear camera with an f/2.0 aperture, PDAF, dual-tone flash, a BSI sensor, and optical image stabilization. The front camera has a 16MP capacity with an f/2.0 aperture, an UltraPixel mode, and a BSI sensor. The device draws its power from a 3,000mAh battery which can deliver up to 15.21 hours of talk-time and up to 427.54 hours of standby time. Its dimensions are 145.99×72.9×7.99mm and it weighs 145 grams.
