It’s been three years since HMD Global reinstated Nokia smartphone business with much enthusiasm. The company exploited the emotional part of the brand name and a significant amount of units has been sold out because of the Nokia brand name
According to recent rumors, HMD Global plans to release an entry-level smartphone. While the official announcement hasn’t confirmed, we have already known a few specifications.
Nokia 1 Plus with Android Go will be released soon
According to recent reports, HMD Global will hold an event in Barcelona on February 24. So, we can expect to see Nokia 9 PureView flagship in this event. However, that isn’t the only offer HMD Global will unveil. The specifications hint at the possibility of the company, releasing an entry-level model into the budget smartphone arena.
Not everybody can afford to purchase a flagship smartphone. The world is now ruled by smartphones, and nobody can ignore using them. So, there was no surprise when HMD Global came up with Nokia 1 in the first place. They wanted the feature-phones users to upgrade as well as increase their user-base.
The Nokia 1 Plus is an upgraded generation of the same device. The render reveals the front-facing camera with the thick bezels. It’s hard to expect zero chin and forehead on a budget smartphone.

When coming to the specifications, the device will flaunt a screen of 480×960 pixels qHD resolution, with 18:9 aspect ratio, giving a pixel density of 213 dpi. We did not know the exact size of the screen. Under the hood, the phone might be powered a MediaTek MT6739WW SoC that is clocked at 1.5 GHz along with a PowerVR GE8100 GPU for handling graphic. It’s a pity when the phone only has 1 GB RAM, and there is only 889 MB available for usage.
The phone is pre-installed with Android 9 Pie out of box. But, there is a chance the phone will run on Android Go version due to the fact that it only comes with 1 GB of RAM.
There is not any report about the internal storage and if the expansion is available or not. Aside from the fact that the phone only comes with a single front-facing camera, we don’t know the exact megapixel or the sensor details.
The Nokia 1 Plus will also be equipped all the major connectivity options such as dual nano SIM, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, GPS, and others. There is also a micro USB port to charge the phone and transfer the data.
While HMD Global will hold an event in the last week of February, the company hasn’t broken their silence when coming to Nokia 1. We don’t know the official release timeline or the price of the phone.
