Samsung has just launched the Galaxy A5 (2017) and Galaxy A7 (2017) in the Indian market. Both smartphones are already available for pre-order on the company’s online store. However, sales will go official on March 15 both online and offline. The Galaxy A5 (2017) costs Rs. 28,990, while the Galaxy A7 (2017) costs Rs. 33,490. Color options for both models include Black Sky and Gold Sand.
Both the Galaxy A5 (2017) and Galaxy A7 (2017) come in Galaxy S7-style design with an aluminum frame in the middle and a 3D glass back. They also feature an IP68-rating for dust and water resistance.
The Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017) sports a 5.4-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080×1920 pixels and Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection on top. It is powered by an octa-core Exynos 7880 chipset, coupled with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory that can be expandable via a microSD card slot. As for optics, the Galaxy A5 (2017) comes with a 16MP rear camera with an aperture of 1.9 and LED flash. The front-facing camera also has a 16MP capacity with an aperture of 1.9. The device is backed by a 3,00mAh battery with fast charging support. Connectivity features will include Wi-Fi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth 4.2, NFC, fingerprint scanner with support for Samsung Pay, a USB Type-C port coupled with a 3.5mm audio jack, and 4G VoLTE.
The bigger Galaxy A7 (2017) features a 5.7-inch Supper AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080×1920 pixels and Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection on top. Its specs are identical to the Galaxy A5 (2017), except for the battery capacity. The Galaxy A7 (2017) draws its power from a bigger 3,600mAh battery. Both models run on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow installed out of the box and will get Android 7.0 Nougat update in the coming time.
