The Galaxy Active series has stated its success for years. And now the ruggedized Galaxy S8 is coming on its way. According to the latest images, the Galaxy S8 Active looks more attractive than the previous versions. The device is expected to be released soon, as it has just received the FCC certification. Release Date and Price
After a long wait, the AT&T S8 Active is now available for pre-order for only under $850. This phone is an AT&T exclusive, which is evidenced by the model number coming in “A” (SM-G892A).
Display
The S8 Active is expected to feature 5.4- inch display, with a unique 2,008 x 1,080 resolution and the 16.7:9 aspect ratio. The Infinity Display should be flat, but it comes with rounded corners like LG G6.
Design
If the previously leaked images are true, S8 Active will be the first smartphone in the Active line to remove the physical navigation buttons on the front. However, the phone is still equipped the MIL-STD-810G durability standard against salt, dust, humidity, rain, vibration, solar radiation, and heat as well as IP-68 certification to protect the phone 1.5 meter depth in water up to 30 minutes.

According to images and a hands-on video from Reddit, they gave the size of the display to be largely the same as the S8, and it’s only 1.5 times thicker with its huge 4,000 mAh battery. The side bumpers are made of metal while the rest of the body is created from polycarbonate. According to previous leaks, there will not be an underwater camera mode. The Active button is also replaced by the Bixby button.
Specs
Performance: Besides the Snapdragon 835 SoC like other the US-versions of the Galaxy S8, the S8 Active is said to pack with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of flash memory, which will provide the same level of performance.
Camera: It’s expected that the Galaxy S8 Active will come with the same cameras as the S8. That’s a 12 MP dual-pixel rear camera, along with an 8 MP front-facing camera.
Battery: The previous Active variants have already had larger batteries, and the S8 Active will surely have a bigger battery than the S8, and even the S8+. The phone is expected to be powered by a 4,000mAh battery
Software: According to rumors, the S8 Active will be shipped with Android 7.0 Nougat out of box.
