We have learned that the Samsung Galaxy S8 won’t launch next month at MWC trade show in Barcelona, Spain. According to a Twitter user @Ricciolo1, the flagship would be available in the 17th week of this year (April 24th – April 30th). And today, he just adds the Galaxy 8 will be unveiled at launch events in both the US and Europe. The source of the rumor also mentions a “record breaking marketing campaign.”
The Samsung Galaxy S8 is expected to be introduced with a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED display with Gorilla Glass 5 protection and a 1440 x 2560 resolution. It will be powered by Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 835 processor that equips an octa-core CPU and Adreno 540 GPU. The new GPU takes advantage of ARM’s Bifrost architecture, which allows for high-end 4K and VR experiences. The Galaxy S8 is said to pack 6/8 GB of RAM and 64/128GB of internal storage, which can be expanded up to 256GB via the microSD card. On the camera front, the flagship will feature a 12MP rear camera with PDAF, OIS, dual-LED flash, 4K video, Auto HDR and touch focus, and an 8MP front-facing one.
The Samsung Galaxy S8 is said to be the first phone to come with Bixby, the company’s new AI-powered personal assistant that will be in direct competition with Alexa, Siri and Google Assistant.
The Galaxy S8 will also include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, dual-band, Wi-Fi direct, hotspot, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS with GLONASS. Running on the latest Android 7.0 Nougat, the flagship is believed to come with fingerprint scanner embedded in the display, stereo speakers with Harman branding and a non -removable Li-Ion battery. It will be available in Black, White, Gold, Silver, Pink Gold colors.
