Even though the Apple iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus have yet to hit retailers in some parts of the world, rumors about the iPhone 8 has been emerging. Many folks do hope that the iPhone 8 could herald a new age of Apple design.
According to Ming-Chi Kuo, a famous analyst at KGI Securities, Foxconn/Hon Hai Precision Industry Company (Taiwan) is working on a “glass casing” for Apple. Taiwan’s Foxconn takes responsibility for assembling Apple products and is a key supplier of metal chassis for the company. So, like the iPhone 4 and 4s, the 2017 iPhone 9 will be a complete glass variant with a little metal frame. The glass is unbreakable and even stronger than Android’s Gorilla Glass.
KGI’s Ming-Chi Kuo adds, that the Jet Black iPhone 7 is a popular choice among early iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus serves as the main reason for switching over the “all-glass design”. Plus, Apple wants to use glass to protect Jet Black variant from scratches and other physical damages. The new design will also help the company provide glossy finish with all color variants. Additionally, Apple will be using 2.5D glass over 3D glass with the next generation.
If rumors are true, the all glass design would obviously be available for the high-end variant. Furthermore, it is rumored that the 2017 iPhone 8 will feature 5.8-inch OLED display with curved glass casing and screen like Samsung’s Galaxy S7 edge and Note 7. Apple has been widely rumored to make a breakthrough in design thanks to its new technologies, and stay more focused on Siri.
So, it seems obvious that the 2017 flagship smartphone is going to bring in a bunch of considerable changes. Most notably, with the above-mentioned design, Apple is going on the way to get back to the design language first seen on iPhone 4 era.
Although Apple is yet to officially confirm the rumors about the iPhone 8, fans could expect the company will be able to prove that they are always a benchmark in making the smartest phones and equipping them with a host of cool features and quality material.
