Based a new source, the Xiaomi Mi 6 will be unveiled around mid-next month. Specifically, the source reveals the device is likely to be released on April 17.
Some other important details were also revealed. The Xiao Mi 6 will be the first domestic smartphone to come equipped with Snapdragon 835 SoC. Plus, the smartphone will not be under-clocked as some previous rumors had floated on the internet.
The source also suggested that the Xiaomi Mi 6 is going to sport a 5.2-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels and a 2.5D glass. Besides that, it has a ceramic body variant. It is expected to come in two different variants 4GB RAM + 64GB Storage and 6GB RAM + 128GB Storage. In the camera department, the Mi 6 is said to have a camera similar to that of Sony’s new Xperia XZ Premium. To specify, the Mi 6 will feature Sony IMX386 sensor at the back and will come with a 12MP rear camera with an apeture of 1.8, phase detection autofocus, and dual-LED (dual tone) flash. The front-facing camera is said to have a 4MP capacity with Sony IMX 268 sensor and an aperture of 2.0 lens for better low-light photography.
The Xiaomi Mi 6 will run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow and draw its power from a non-removable 3,200 Li-Ion battery with Quick Charge 4.0 support. Connectivity features will include Wi-Fi 802.11 ac dual-band, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS with GLONASS, NFC, and type-C 1.0 reversible connector. It will also sport a fingerprint scanner on the front.
In terms of pricing, the Xiaomi Mi 6’s base variant is said to be priced at CNY 1,999 (around $290), while the top variant will cost CNY 2,500 ($365). Color options for the Xiaomi Mi 6 will include Silver, Gray, Gold, and Rose Gold.
